COURT RULES VA MUST PAY SURVIVORS OR ESTATE WHEN RETROACTIVE BENEFITS ARE OWED UNDER NEHMER TO DECEASED INDIVIDUALS

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs unsuccessfully moved the court to modify the Nehmer orders to allow the VA not to pay past due benefits to the estates of veterans if there were no living spouse, children or parents.
