Helping veterans and active duty personnel obtain the benefits they deserve

The National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) is an independent nonprofit organization that has worked since 1980 to ensure that the U.S. government keeps its pact with our nation's 25 million veterans and active duty personnel by providing them the federal benefits they have earned through their service to our country.

As a conduit for change against unfair government practices, NVLSP has been instrumental in the passage of landmark veterans' rights legislation. Lawsuits brought by NVLSP attorneys have forced the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to pay hundreds of millions of dollars in benefits to disabled veterans and their families and have forced the military departments to give millions of dollars in back pay to veterans.

NVLSP recruits, trains, and assists thousands of lawyer and non-lawyer advocates who represent veterans and active duty military personnel for free. Our publications empower veterans, current service members, their families, and their advocates to obtain the benefits they're entitled to by clearly outlining their rights under the law.

Your support is needed!

We rely on our friends and supporters to provide critical financial support so that we can continue our efforts to help veterans and their families get the full benefits they're entitled to.
